In 1900, in a small village on the edge of the Lüneburg Heath, the poor farming family LAMBERT is cheated by the large-scale farming family PAPE of the oil deposits discovered under their fields. When the oil rush takes hold of the village and threatens to destroy the farming community forever, the women of the Lamberts fight for justice and win their independence.
